The Brazilian jeweller Rita Holanda, who has been living in Madrid for the last four years, is fascinated by innovative designs and materials: from exotic leathers from the Amazon, to Brazilian stones, or the highly fashionable Galuchat.
She brings to this fair the "Capim Dourado", a material totally unknown by the European audience, which she combines with the more traditional sterling silver and gold.
The "Capim Dourado" is a grass of a golden colour which only exists in one part of the world: Jalapão, a northern region of Brazil.
The skilled hands of the inhabitants of Jalapão saw its threads one by one converting them in handicrafts of great beauty used for decoration, apparel and jewellery. To avoid the disappearance of the golden grass, the Brazilian authorities have set strict rules for its annual harvest, forbidding its commercialization as raw material.
Considering the skills of the craftsmen, each item becomes a true natural jewel.
Among the various materials appearing in her creations is the galuchat, stingray leather used by the most prominent luxury brands. Thanks to this noble material, Rita prepared a collection named "eyes of Miró". Fascinated by the famous Spanish artist she used him as her inspiration and the resulting creations are particularly modern, chic and beautiful, the theme and the material marrying to perfection.
Rita surprises also with her modern and delicate jewels made of Brazilian stones... The versatility of this artist is outstanding, the result of serious, ongoing and passionate research.
